If you are sewing for anyone other than yourself or your friends and family, STOP RIGHT NOW.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SEW MASKS FOR MEDICAL FACILITIES OR HEALTHCARE WORKERS WITHOUT VERIFYING PRECISE REQUIREMENTS.

You could be putting them at risk and actually spreading the virus further!

If you are sewing for yourself, family or friends:

1. Choose a pattern that makes the most sense to you and your doctor for your particular needs. Learn how to decide what kind of mask you need.

2. Choose fabric that you already have and have sanitized. DO NOT GO BUY FABRIC OR SUPPLIES. If you do not have what you need, either choose another pattern, improvise, or accept that it is not worth the risk to violate isolation or lockdown. Social distancing is not enough.

3. Wear a mask while you sew other masks. Sanitize your new masks before using.

4. Learn how to use it safely, including putting it on, taking it off, and sanitizing.
